About the Role
Working closely and reporting to Arcare’s National WHS and Injury Manager, the Return to Work Coordinator is responsible in supporting employees in returning or remaining at work following a work or non-work-related injury/illness and ensuring that Arcare has effective return to work programmes that continue to meet legislative requirements. This position is 3 days per week based at Arcare Warriewood 

Skills and Experience;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Return to Work Coordinator in an Aged Care or Healthcare environment;
  • Extensive knowledge of the WorkCover Authority Workers Compensation scheme and claims management process including employer/employee obligations in order to monitor and maintain compliance.
  • Proficient in the use of various Microsoft software applications alongwith experience in collating information and preparation of reports
  • Previous experience in working in Aged Care or Health Care Industry (desirable);
  • Ability to understand and review outcome results and case/claims data;
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with supervisors, HR, health and safety, senior management, external providers and injured employees;
  • Ability to balance the needs of individuals with the needs of the workplace;
  • Skills in consulting widely, taking on board the needs of various parties;
  • Ability to actively listen with well-developed communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with employees from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Effective record keeping and data collection throughout all stages of the injury management process  in line with relevant employer legislative obligations;
  • Experience in the use of Injury Management software (desirable)
  • Excellent time management and the ability to multitask,
  • Current Police Clearance and Statutory Declaration
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence and own comprehensively insured vehicle as travel is required
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
  • Being the focal point for key stake holders including, injured employees, their managers, treating doctors, workers insurance and where necessary, occupational rehabilitation providers involved in rehabilitation process for Arcare employees.
  • In consultation with key stake holders initiate early return to work planning by providing practical assistance in identifying appropriate suitable duties with a view to develop and implement return to work as soon as practicable after an injury, taking into account the injured employee’s capabilities and medical restrictions.
  • Ongoing monitoring of return to work plans with a view to ensure durable and sustainable outcomes.
  • Liaise with injured employee and their medical treaters with a view to obtain and maintain capacity for work during the injured employee’s rehabilitation phase.
  • Ensure Arcare meets its return to work obligations in accordance with WorkCover Authority legislative requirements.
  • Liaise with Arcare Allied Health experts with regards to injury rehabilitation.
  • Assist in evaluating staff incidents with a view to promote elimination of re-occurrence.
  • Where necessary travel between sites to meet with key stakeholders as a means to actively participate in return to work coordination
