Residence Manager and local to the Mornington Peninsula area, Likando Likando, has been a nurse for 24 years and has been working in aged care for 11 years. We interviewed her to gain an insight on her role, experience and what she enjoys in life.
What is your name and role at Arcare?
My name is Likando Likando, I am the commissioning manager for Balnarring.

I am local to the Mornington Peninsula.
How many years have you been in Aged Care? Any relevant experience we can share?
I have been a nurse for 24 years and in aged care management for 11 years.
What was it about Arcare/this role that attracted you?
The unique Arcare organisational culture that focuses on building quality relationships and support for staff is what attracted me, also the opportunity to be part of the commissioning team presented a good challenge.
What are you looking forward to in your role at Arcare Balnarring?
I am looking forward to creating positive, lasting relationships with our new residents, the Balnarring community and bringing quality five-star residential aged care to them.
What do you enjoy about your role and working in aged care?
What I enjoy most and have done for many years is nursing with a special interest in aged care.
What pearls of wisdom or words of encouragement do you live by?
I believe in always treating others how I would like to be treated.
What hobbies or interests do you have outside of work?
I am a hobby farmer, I like feeding and talking to my Alpacas, I like horses, and, in the summer, I go jet skiing, camping and fishing.
