National Work Health & Safety Manager


About the Opportunity

Arcare is seeking an experienced and strategic National Work Health & Safety Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the organisation’s Work Health & Safety, Early Intervention and Injury Management programs nationally.

Reporting to the Chief People and Culture Officer, this senior leadership role will work collaboratively across all levels of the business to embed a proactive safety culture and ensure WHS practices are integrated into core operations. The successful candidate will also lead a small team located across Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and New South Wales and contribute broadly to the People and Culture function.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive Arcare’s national WHS and injury management strategy
  • Develop, implement and monitor WHS systems, policies and procedures
  • Coach and influence leaders to integrate safety into everyday operations
  • Oversee incident investigations, risk management and corrective actions
  • Lead early intervention and return-to-work initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with relevant WHS legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Analyse safety performance data and identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and support to a geographically dispersed team
  • Contribute to broader People and Culture initiatives and organisational objectives


About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience in a senior WHS leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and injury management practices
  • Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organisational levels
  • Experience managing teams across multiple locations
  • Excellent communication, coaching and relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety or related discipline
